We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join the Wauseon Exempted Village School District as a Full-Time Bus Driver for the *2026-2027* school year.

The ideal candidate will be committed to ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school and related activities. This position requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working with children. Responsibilities - Safely operate a school bus to transport students to and from school, extracurricular activities, and field trips. - Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition. - Maintain a clean and organized bus interior. - Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving. - Monitor student behavior and enforce safety rules on the bus. - Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation schedules and any issues that may arise. - Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, especially those with special needs. - Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the appropriate authorities. - Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required. - Complete necessary paperwork and maintain accurate records, including student attendance and incident reports. Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent. - 21 years of age or older - -- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a school bus endorsement or ability to obtain one. - Clean driving record and background check. - Previous experience driving a bus or working with children is preferred. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills. - Ability to remain calm and patient in stressful situations. - Knowledge of safety regulations and traffic laws related to school transportation. - Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons. - First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
