SUPERVISOR – RESPIRATORY THERAPY

Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Wausau, WI

Full Time (1.0 FTE, 80 hours every pay period)

Generally, Monday – Friday PM/Night rotation, weekends if needed

Job Description:

The Supervisor of Respiratory Therapy Services is responsible for leading and supporting the Respiratory Therapy team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. This role focuses on staff onboarding, orientation success, mentoring and professional growth, team morale, accountability, scheduling, and timekeeping. The Supervisor works under the direction of the Department Manager and collaborates with the Director of Cardiopulmonary Services and Respiratory Therapy Medical Director to maintain clinical excellence and operational efficiency.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Respiratory Therapy acquired through completion of an Associate Degree of Science from an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in respiratory care, or Heath Care Management beneficial.

  • 5 years as a Respiratory Therapist required.

  • 2 years in formal leadership position beneficial.

  • An active Wisconsin Respiratory Therapist license.

  • RRT registration by the National Board of Respiratory Care is required.

  • ACLS, PALS, and NRP required.

  • Current CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training through independent study, manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable CPR training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.   • Advanced credentials in Respiratory Therapy beneficial- ACCS or NPS recognized.

  • Active membership in the American Association of Respiratory Care.
