GPS EDUCATION PARTNERS Work-Based Learning Specialist in WAUKESHA, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Work-Based Learning (WBL) Specialist is responsible for supporting organizations in both the early stages of program development and in strengthening established work-based learning initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Work-Based Learning Strategy, this role combines training, coordination, facilitation, and relationship management to help schools, districts, and community partners sustain and expand effective WBL programs. The Specialist supports needs assessments, implementation planning, and the development of high-quality resources that align with WBL best practices and client goals. Through this work, the Specialist helps create conditions for sustainable programs that drive student success. Key Responsibilities: Program Support - Collaborate on needs assessments, stakeholder mapping, and program refinement activities to help organizations understand their WBL capacity and readiness. Support the implementation and continuous improvement of program frameworks, roadmaps, and supporting tools tailored to each partner\'s goals. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of resources, templates, and training materials that promote consistent, high-quality implementation. Modeling, Training, & Facilitation - Model instructional and facilitation practices that demonstrate high-quality WBL engagement and program coordination. Deliver presentations and facilitate sessions for educators, employers, and community partners to build understanding, alignment, and action. Provide hands-on training and coaching to partners implementing WBL strategies and practices. Stakeholder Relationship Management - Maintain strong relationships with partner organizations, schools, employers, and community stakeholders. Serve as a trusted collaborator to sustain engagement and identify opportunities for ongoing support and partnership growth. Demonstrate cultural awareness and comfort working in diverse and urban environments. Coordination & Operations - Coordinate logistical aspects of consulting and training engagements, including scheduling, materials preparation, and managing deliverables and timelines. Support data collection, documentation, and reporting to inform decision-making and measure outcomes. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment and consistency in project execution and client experience. Travel Requirement - Ability and willingness to travel across the U.S. for up to four days per trip, as many as four times per year. Offer specific training programs to help workers maintain or improve job skills. Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, or consultation with managers, instructors, or customer representatives. Monitor, evaluate, or record training activities or program effectiveness. Design, plan, organize, or direct orientation and training programs for employees or customers. Develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen. Coordinate recruitment and placement of training program participants. Negotiate contracts with clients for desired training outcomes, fees, or expenses. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: 3-5 years of experience working within work-based learning, education, workforce development, or a related field. Proven track record of designing, implementing, and scaling programs that achieve measurable outcomes. Demonstrated experience in partnership development, fundraising, or business deve opment. Skills and Qualifications: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders, including students, educators, corporate partners, and senior leaders. Deep understanding of career-connected learning, workforce trends, and equitable access principles. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
