Job Summary: The Standard Cost Accounting Manager oversees the cost accounting function and serves as a strategic partner to Finance and Operations. This role is responsible for supervising a team, developing and maintaining standard costs, analyzing large and complex data sets, and identifying, explaining, and communicating cost variances. The position plays a key role in driving business insight, optimizing costing processes, and supporting decision-making within a multi-location, multi-division, and multi-product line environment. Job Duties & Responsibilities: Manage team members and provide leadership to ensure accuracy, accountability, and desired business results. Oversee all areas of cost accounting, including standard cost development, maintenance, and oversight of other functions within the Standard Costing Team. Serve as a strategic finance and operations partner, providing insights that help drive and shape business decisions. Analyze large and complex data sets, translating results into actionable insights and executive-level messages. Utilize data analytics and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI) to support reporting, visualization, and performance analysis. Lead change initiatives within the costing function, including reevaluating, building, and optimizing processes rather than simplymaintainingexisting ones. Compile, analyze, and present reports related to the standard costing process, including variance analysis and trend reporting.
