Actalent Quality Control Technician in WAUKESHA, Wisconsin

Job Title: Quality Control TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a diligent Quality Control Technician to conduct QC testing on the production floor. This role involves performing metal detection checks, leak tests, and percentage tests, alongside executing line audits hourly on each production line. The technician will also perform basic tests such as moisture, salt, and fat content using automated testing equipment. Daily documentation of numbers and tests, in both paper and computer forms, is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct QC testing on the production floor, including metal detection checks, leak tests, and percentage tests.

  • Perform hourly line audits on each production line, including 1st piece, in-process, and final inspections/QC tests.

  • Calculate percentages of materials and total ounces accurately.

  • Perform basic automated testing for moisture, salt, and fat content.

  • Document daily numbers and tests in both paper and computer form.

  • Collaborate with production personnel to perform QC checks and correct any errors.

Essential Skills

  • Understanding of quality control processes in manufacturing.

  • Familiarity with food quality processes.

  • Ability to perform basic math calculations, including percentages.

  • Experience with quality, food quality, GMP, line audits, and quality assurance processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma, HSED, or GED.

  • 1+ years of experience in Food Quality Control, including HACCP.

  • Proficiency in percentage calculations (e.g., 60% of 12 ounces = 7.2 ounces).

Work Environment

This position is within a smaller food manufacturing company that produces large volumes of products for major customers like CVS and Costco. The company is expanding its customer base and has a new pasteurization facility, offering opportunities for growth. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend shifts during busy seasons.
