Document Technician

Location:On-Site, Waukegan, IL

Pay Rate:\$16.80 per hour

Schedule:40 hrs/wk , M-F, 8-5

Position Summary

  • The Document Technician is responsible for reviewing, inventorying, and documenting case files within the retention warehouse (Chicago Records). This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to established procedures, and the ability to provide accurate daily reporting. The position works under a moderate level of supervision and involves regular collaboration with the work lead or supervisor.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct file reviews within the retention warehouse (Chicago Records).
  • Prepare and deliver daily reports summarizing case files reviewed.
  • Conduct and verify inventory of record cases by department.
  • Participate in follow-up meetings to review results and discuss findings.
  • Follow clearly defined standard operating procedures and quality guidelines.
  • Refer complex or unusual issues to the supervisor as needed.

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to apply acquired knowledge and skills to complete standard tasks.
  • Quick learner who can readily apply new information and methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to work on routine assignments requiring basic problem-solving.
  • Works effectively under a moderate degree of supervision.
  • Maintains required training, certifications, and/or licenses (as applicable).
  • Produces work that is regularly reviewed by a lead or supervisor.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 12 years of related experience preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to follow established procedures and maintain quality standards.
  • Reliable attendance for part-time work schedule (20 hours/week).
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse/records retention environment.
