This | | | position reports to the Assistant | | | County Engineer and is located in | | | Watford City, ND.Level and | | | salary commensurate with | | | experience. | | | | | | Essential Job Functions | | | | | | - Under the supervision of the | | | Assistant County Engineer, | | | acts as an inspector on | | | construction projects. | | | - Inspects items such as hot | | | bituminous pavement, concrete | | | pavement, earthwork, culvert | | | installation, etc. | | | - Monitors and keeps accurate, | | | daily records of contractor | | | operations to assure project | | | is built according to plans | | | and specifications. | | | - Supervise materials | | | sampling/testing and | | | construction surveying on the | | | project. | | | - Checks the dimensions and | | | tolerances of constructed | | | roadway features to ensure | | | conformance to plans and | | | specifications. | | | - Measures, computes and | | | documents pay items to ensure | | | proper payment for work done | | | under the contract. | | | - Provides technical assistance | | | and consults with other | | | Departments regarding | | | engineering functions, site | | | development, drainage, and | | | transportation. | | | - Reviews prepared plans and | | | contract documents for | | | projects to ensure County | | | standards are being met. | | | - Assists with permit | | | inspections to ensure | | | compliance with approved | | | permit and relevant | | | standards, as assigned. | | | - Other duties as assigned. | +-----------------------------------+-----------------------------------+
