Job Description
This role involves smoothing and refining the surfaces of painted bike frames using sandpaper, polishing compound, and a buffing tool. The P1 buffer is responsible for inspecting each frame, identifying minor surface defects, and removing them to ensure every bike meets Trek’s high-quality standards.
What you’ll experience on the job:
Sand and polish surface defects from bike frames
Inspect frames for defects using Trek’s cosmetic guidelines
Log and escalate quality concerns to leadership
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat and complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed
What you’ll bring to the team:
Ability to operate basic tools such as a buffer or sander
Ability to identify and escalate quality issues
Ability to lift, carry, or pull medium weights, up to 50 lbs
Ability to do repetitious work
Initiation of continuous improvement opportunities
