As part of our continuing growth in this high technology market, Teledyne Digital Imaging is recruiting for a Manufacturing Supervisor ( Afternoon Shift) in Waterloo !
The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for leading day-to-day production operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are met. This role provides direct supervision to production employees, promotes continuous improvement, and ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
What you will do:
Production & Operations
Supervise daily manufacturing activities to achieve production schedules, output targets, and efficiency goals
Monitor workflow, staffing levels, and equipment utilization to optimize productivity
Coordinate activities across shifts to ensure smooth transitions and consistent performance
Safety & Compliance
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture; ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations
Conduct safety talks, inspections, and incident investigations as required
Ensure proper training and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Quality
Ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements
Address quality issues promptly and implement corrective and preventive actions
Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives related to quality systems
People Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop production employees to achieve high performance and engagement
Conduct performance reviews, attendance management, and disciplinary actions as needed
Support onboarding and training of new employees
Continuous Improvement
Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, or other improvement methodologies
Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve processes, and lower operating costs
Communication & Reporting
Communicate production targets, priorities, and expectations clearly to the team
Maintain accurate production, labor, and downtime records
Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams
What you need :
Post-secondary education in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field
3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Prior experience supervising or leading production teams
Strong knowledge of safety practices and manufacturing processes
Ability to read and interpret production documents, procedures, and schedules
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Strong leadership and people management skills
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems
SAP S4 experience an asset

Salary Range:
$56,200.00-$74,900.000
