Description:
Shift: Days, 8 hours shifts
What you will do:
Assists pharmacists in receiving, processing and preparing provider’s orders
-Receives rx from patient, collects appropriate information to process rx (demographics, insurance,
allergies, current medications)
-Processes prescriptions accurately and efficiently
-Obtains correct medication, strength, dosage form and quantity to complete order
-Prepares/fills prescription for pharmacist verification
-Utilizes Pharmacy-at-a-Glance in QS1 to monitor workload and prioritize tasks
-Pharmacy Tech II only - Receives telephone prescription orders from providers (repeat back and verify
information)
-Utilizes Eyecons to count all meds capable of being counted on Eyecons. Double count all meds
(except for RxMedic drugs) and back count CIIs.
-Processes Return to Stocks daily
Qualifications:
Current Pharmacy Technician Certification required.
Registered with Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a Technician or as a Pharmacy Intern within 30 days
of hire.
If driving, Valid IA driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
