Aerotek Machine Operator in Waterford, New York

Job Title: Machine Operator – 3rd Shift

Location: Waterford, NY

Pay: $21-$23/hour

Shift: 7:00PM-7:30AM, Monday through Wednesday and every other Thursday.

Job Description:

We are hiring 3rd shift machine operators to join a growing HVAC component manufacturing team. This role offers a highly desirable 3-day/4-day rotating workweek, meaning you work only 3 days one week and 4 days the next—every week. In addition, this position includes 16 hours of guaranteed overtime each month, providing consistent extra income while still enjoying extended time off.

Job Duties:

  • Operate extrusion lines to manufacture polypropylene vent system components to specification

  • Conduct shift handoffs, communicating production rates, machine conditions, and issues

  • Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments to maintain efficiency and quality

  • Inspect extruded products for defects, dimensions, and accuracy

  • Record production metrics including counts, scrap rates, and machine settings

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and support continuous improvement

  • Assist with work order distribution and workflow support as needed during the shift

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of machine operating experience, preferably in plastic extrusion

  • Experience with machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting

  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

  • Comfortable working 12‑hour shifts on a 3/4 rotating schedule

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waterford, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
