Waterford Public Schools has a vacancy for a team-oriented individual. The Executive Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools is a non-bargaining unit, 12 month position. This position is a critical member of the Superintendent's Office and responsible for organizing, coordinating, and managing the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced executive office. In this role, you must have the ability to provide high-level administrative support of a complex and sensitive nature. The successful candidate will have excellent judgement, the ability to juggle competing priorities, remain accurate, and possess above average technology and organizational skills.

The Executive Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent serves as a primary point of contact and liaison between the Superintendent, the Board of Education, district leadership, staff, families, elected officials, and the community. This role also supports Board of Education meetings and assists in the creation and dissemination of district communications, compliance reporting, and event coordination when needed.

Waterford Public Schools serves approximately 2,400 students in grades PK-12. Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :

  • College degree preferred but not required.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative or executive assistant experience

  • Experience in a school district, public agency, or similarly complex organization desired.

  • A Connecticut Notary Public or the ability to become one.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage the workflow of a senior executive office

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including conflict resolution

  • Ability to work effectively with a multitude of stakeholders, including staff, parents, students, Board members, elected officials, and community partners

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills

  • Ability to handle important work accurately and efficiently while meeting deadlines

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • High-level of skill in the areas of software and technology

    Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : At will Non-Bargaining Unit position per individual contract. Annual salary $80,000 - $88,000 dependent on experience and qualifications. Full benefits package offered.
