Description
Senior Program Manager driving AWS South Africa's B-BBEE Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) objectives. Leads strategic ESD initiatives, ensuring compliance with B-BBEE legislation while building sustainable impact for SMEs. Combines program management expertise with deep regulatory knowledge to manage risk, to develop beneficiaries, and to drive preferential procurement strategy. Partner with business leaders to deliver economic transformation goals and strengthen supplier partnerships across South Africa.
Key job responsibilities
Strategic ESD Leadership & Program Management
Drive an integrated risk and governance strategy for the ESD program,
Contribute to planning processes and own organisational goals for the ESD program,
Improve and implement the strategy, processes, and methodologies enabling the ESD strategic plan,
Support procurement initiatives and prepare for the annual B-BBEE certification, and
Make strategic trade-offs between short-term needs and long-term ESD program objectives
B-BBEE Compliance & Risk Management
Drive B-BBEE compliance across ESD initiatives and oversee compliance from a risk perspective across the ESD portfolio
Develop and manage risk assessment frameworks for B-BBEE compliance as it relates to ESD implementation
Provide insights into key risk, preferential procurement, and ESD requirements
Balance customer experience against risk management concerns in the ESD context
Enterprise and Supplier Development
Improve existing mechanisms and metrics to manage ESD beneficiaries ensuring AWS delivers on its transformation objectives
Demonstrate superior technical expertise in developing ESD beneficiaries
Maintain and improve on global Procurement processes and tools as they relate to ESD to drive innovation across teams and external partners
Supplier Management and Performance
- Develop mechanisms and metrics to track supplier performance related to delivery, quality, and cost aligning with B-BBEE requirements
Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
Experience in technical support, or experience in software development and experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines, or experience with end-to-end project management
Demonstrated understanding of B-BBEE legislation, procurement regulatory framework legislation and ESD requirements
Experience in managing complex risk and procurement programs in a corporate environment
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in implementing B-BBEE policies and strategy, including DTIC Codes of Good Practice, ICT and/or Financial Sector Codes, detailed reporting, policy review, and verification
Significant experience in compliance, audit, or risk management and
Preferred Qualifications
Deep understanding of the various B-BBEE Codes and the calculations of the scorecard (ability to provide strategic advice, good presentation and report writing skills)
Previous experience in B-BBEE consulting or implementation
Passion for delivering meaningful transformation solutions with obsession for rigorous goal-setting, continuous process improvement, and mentorship
Strong experience in creating, defining, and implementing procurement strategy
