Trinity Health Registered Nurse RN FT Nights Medical Oncology in Waterbury, Connecticut

Description:

At Saint Mary’s Hospital, our Medical Oncology Registered Nurses (RNs) provide specialized, compassionate care to hospitalized patients undergoing cancer treatment. These dedicated professionals play a vital role in administering therapies, managing symptoms, and supporting patients and their families throughout their cancer journey. Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred.

  • Licensure: Current and valid Connecticut RN license.

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year in an acute inpatient setting.

  • Certifications: BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.

Work Schedule :

Full-time 36 hours, Night

  • 12-hour shifts- 7p to 7:30a

  • Schedule Weekend & Holidays are required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Monitoring: Continuously assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and document clinical progress.

  • Medication Administration: Deliver oncology-specific treatments with attention to accurate dosing, monitoring, and documentation.

  • Patient & Family Education: Provide clear, empathetic education on diagnoses, treatments, and self-care strategies.

  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with physicians and healthcare teams to monitor neurological status, cognitive function, motor skills, and sensory responses.
