Power Full Effects Laborer in Wasilla, Alaska

Job Summary: The General Laborer supports construction projects by performing a variety of physical tasks on job sites. This role involves assisting skilled tradespeople, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and completing basic construction duties as directed by supervisors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with site preparation, including clearing debris, digging trenches, and setting up materials
  • Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment
  • Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision
  • Support skilled trades (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc.) as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
  • Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Perform demolition, basic repairs, and other general labor tasks as assigned
  • Help with assembling and disassembling temporary structures such as scaffolding
  • Direct traffic or assist with site logistics when necessary

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous construction or labor experience is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions
  • Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (typically 50+ lbs)
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

Work Environment:

  • Outdoor construction sites with exposure to noise, dust, and changing weather
  • May involve working at heights or in confined spaces depending on the project
