Power Full Effects Laborer in Wasilla, Alaska
Job Summary: The General Laborer supports construction projects by performing a variety of physical tasks on job sites. This role involves assisting skilled tradespeople, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and completing basic construction duties as directed by supervisors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with site preparation, including clearing debris, digging trenches, and setting up materials
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision
- Support skilled trades (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc.) as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Perform demolition, basic repairs, and other general labor tasks as assigned
- Help with assembling and disassembling temporary structures such as scaffolding
- Direct traffic or assist with site logistics when necessary
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous construction or labor experience is a plus, but not required
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (typically 50+ lbs)
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Work Environment:
- Outdoor construction sites with exposure to noise, dust, and changing weather
- May involve working at heights or in confined spaces depending on the project
