Atlas Sand Company, LLC Safety Engineering Intern – Unpaid Internship in Washington, Pennsylvania
Position Overview
Atlas Energy Solutions is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Intern to support our Northeast operations team. This internship provides hands-on exposure to safety programs within a fast-paced industrial and logistics environment supporting oil and gas operations.
The selected candidate will work directly with the EHS team to support field safety initiatives, risk assessments, training development, inspections, and behavior-based safety efforts. This is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing a degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities
Assist with field safety inspections and site observations
Participating in Safety Blitzes and operational audits
Support hazard identification and risk assessments
Assist with development and distribution of Toolbox Talks
Help track and analyze safety metrics and trends
Support incident investigations and corrective action tracking
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the EHS program
Assist in promoting safety culture initiatives across operations
Preferred Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in:
Safety Management
Occupational Health & Safety
Environmental Science
Industrial Hygiene
Or related field
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to travel to operational sites within the region
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail

Physical & Travel Requirements
Ability to visit active operational sites

FR Clothing and standard PPE i.e., Hard hat, Safety Glasses and Gloves will be supplied by Atlas
Student must be able to supply Safety Toed boots to wear on locations
Travel within the Northeast region (PA, OH, and WV) required
