DRILLING ASSISTANT TECHNICIAN / MECHANIC
Summit Geoengineering Services, Inc. (SGS) is seeking a full-time (M-F) Drilling Assistant Technician / Mechanic for our exploration operations based at 64 Augusta Road, Washington, Maine 04574. We are interested in candidates who are hard-working, physically capable, committed, safety conscious, mechanically inclined, and team oriented.

Job Details
Salary range: \$28.00 - \$35.00/hour based on experience
Assisting SGS Drillers in field operations.
Learning drilling methodologies for test borings and excavation of test pits.
Projects are largely in Maine with infrequent trips within New England, including occasional company paid over-night stays required.
Assisting Mechanic Manager with repairs and maintenance on all SGS commercial fleet of trucks, drill rigs, and excavators including inspections and potential rebuilds.
Predominately year-round outdoor work, active, and dynamic.
Monitoring a safe workplace, maintaining workplace safety and applying risk management processes for elimination of work-related injuries, damage to equipment, and incident-related lost time.
Qualifications
Own or ability to obtain CDL Class A License
Prefer experience in heavy equipment operations including: drilling, diesel, and mechanic skills
Welding skills a plus
Completed (or willing to complete): OSHA Construction 10-hour safety training and OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour safety training
Self-motivated to learn new skills for advancement
Work well with a team (driller and engineer)
Willingness to travel within Maine and occasionally New England
Reliable to handle a variable daily schedule and range of outdoor work environments
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities are important
Be physically fit able to lift 60 lbs. repeatedly, work in all weather conditions, work in a bent or crouched position
Expected 35 55 hours per week, averaging 45 hours per week
