Job Title: Receptionist and Office AssistantJob Description

We are seeking a reliable, personable, and highly organized Office Administrator & Front Desk Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our commercial real estate office. This role supports daily office operations, ensures a welcoming environment for visitors, and provides essential administrative assistance to internal teams. Prior commercial real estate experience is not required, though it is considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first face guests see upon arrival, creating a warm and professional welcome.

  • Direct visitors, vendors, and clients to the appropriate team members.

  • Manage conference room setup, ensuring spaces are prepared for meetings.

  • Maintain inventory of office supplies, including pens, paper, snacks, coffee, and beverages.

  • Prepare and submit supply orders to the appropriate internal contact.

  • Monitor and maintain the kitchen and common areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.

  • Assist with printing materials and resolving basic printer issues, or coordinate service when needed.

  • Submit invoices into the system for the Business Support Team to process.

  • Prepare outgoing packages and coordinate shipments.

  • Draft and send internal office communications via email as needed.

  • Provide light operational support across the office as requested.

  • No phone coverage required — this role does not manage the main phone line.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of office admin or front desk experience.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook.

  • High School Diploma.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.

  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.

  • Comfortable with basic office technology, such as printers, email, and office software.

  • Ability to multitask and support a busy office environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Commercial real estate experience is a plus but not required.

Work Environment

The work schedule is from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with flexibility to start at 9 AM. The office environment is business casual, allowing for comfortable attire such as golf shirts rather than suits and ties. You will be part of an office that typically accommodates around 40 brokers, along with a PM, IT, and marketing team. Parking is available in a nearby garage, though it is at your own expense.

This is a Contract position based out of Washington, DC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
