Job Title: Facilities Technician
Job Description
The Facilities Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of work including the preventative maintenance and assistance in repair of building and grounds in assigned areas. This role requires strong technical skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work independently in a modern facility with up-to-date systems. The shift is Tuesday-Saturday 8am-4pm.
Responsibilities
Perform general plumbing tasks such as changing shower heads, sinks, and drains.
Conduct general carpentry repairs using tools to fix beds and doors.
Handle general electrical maintenance including replacing lamps and bulbs and tracing electrical lines.
Monitor and troubleshoot HVAC systems, clean vents, and coordinate with external HVAC contractors for complex issues.
Utilize technology effectively, including iPads, email, and motorized blinds.
Essential Skills
General plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and HVAC maintenance skills.
Technical proficiency with modern systems and equipment.
Ability to take initiative and work independently.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Customer service experience and ability to interact professionally with clients.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
6+ months of building maintenance experience within apartment complexes or hotels.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs daily.
Experience working on rooftop HVAC units and familiarity with VAV boxes.
Previous experience in a customer-focused environment such as hotels, apartment complexes, or corporate facilities.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, DC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
