Corner Alliance Emergency Preparedness Project Manager in Washington, District Of Columbia

About the Role: 

As a Project Manager supporting our Federal government client, you will be trusted to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of a large-scale technical implementation effort supporting complex capital budgeting, emergency preparedness, hazard mitigation, and public safety initiatives. This role is responsible for managing a complex, multi-stakeholder project that informs the development of systems designed to improve early emergency alerting capabilities and reduce risk to communities. The Project Manager will drive project delivery from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment across technical contributors, stakeholders, and leadership while delivering high-quality, timely, and actionable outputs. 

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):  

  • Lead end-to-end project management for complex planning efforts supporting emergency preparedness and risk mitigation initiatives 

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budget, work plans, milestones, and deliverable timelines 

  • Coordinate and manage inputs from diverse stakeholders, including technical experts, partner organizations, and leadership 

  • Plan, facilitate, and document stakeholder engagements such as interviews, workshops, and working sessions 

  • Organize and manage workstreams and tasking across contributors, ensuring alignment and accountability 

  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to keep efforts on track 

  • Drive the development of major deliverables, including budget, technical plans, reports, and supporting documentation 

  • Synthesize complex technical and stakeholder input into clear, actionable, and well-structured outputs 

  • Provide regular status reporting on progress, risks, and performance to program leadership 

  • Ensure adherence to project requirements, deadlines, and quality standards in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment 

  • Support coordination of budgeting inputs, resource planning, and level-of-effort tracking as needed

Location: 

You will work as part of a dynamic team remotely. 

Required Experience/Skills:  

  • A Bachelor’s degree 

  • 8+ years of professional experience 

  • 3+ years of relevant experience managing projects of similar scope and complexity 

  • Experience supporting emergency preparedness, disaster response, or hazard mitigation programs at the federal, state, or local level 

  • Experience coordinating projects related to public safety systems, early warning systems, or risk reduction initiatives 

  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-stakeholder projects involving federal clients 

  • Experience developing project plans, budgets, schedules, and deliverables in a structured environment 

  • Experience with cost estimation, budgeting, or WBS development 

  • Experience with technical planning efforts, implementation plans, or strategic reports 

  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • US citizenship or permanent resident and the ability to pass public trust clearance or suitability 

Preferred Experience/Skills: 

  • Experience supporting USGS or FEMA 

  • Experience supporting planning efforts for natural hazards (e.g., earthquakes, wildfires, floods, or other environmental risks) 

  • Familiarity with emergency management frameworks, such as the National Response Framework (NRF), National Incident Management System (NIMS), or similar structures 

  • PMP, CAPM, or similar project management certification 

  • Experience working with scientific, engineering, or infrastructure-related projects
