Treasury, Departmental Offices Deputy Director of Analysis in Washington, District Of Columbia
Summary This position is located at Departmental Offices,Domestic Finance - Financial Stability Oversight Council. As a Deputy Director of Analysis, you will help oversee a staff that is responsible for formulating, conducting, evaluating, and executing a wide range of economic and financial analysis that relate to the financial stability of the United States, including through the direct supervision of junior staff. Responsibilities As a Deputy Director of Analysis, you will: Assist with the development, preparation, and production of the Council's annual report to Congress, which describes the activities of the Council, significant financial market and regulatory developments, and potential and emerging threats to the financial stability of the United States. Help oversee a staff that is responsible for formulating, conducting, evaluating, and executing a wide range of economic and financial analysis. Manage multiple projects simultaneously. Lead the drafting of briefing materials, issue papers, memoranda, reports, and studies. Coordinate and cooperate with the other offices within Domestic Finance in the development of policies, proposals, reports, briefings, and other assignments. Supervise and support staff related to the efforts detailed above. Requirements Conditions of Employment Key Requirements: Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. Qualifications You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position requires meeting A, B, AND C below: A) Experience leading research or advanced data analysis in TWO or more of the following markets or sectors: 1. Banking sector 2. Insurance sector, investment funds, or other segments of the nonbank financial sector 3. U.S. Treasury markets 4. Equity markets 5. Credit markets 6. Mortgage markets or other segments of the household finance sector 7. Derivatives markets AND B) Experience in at least TWO of the following three activities: 1. Developing written analyses or summaries (such as memoranda, reports, briefs, or articles) regarding risks to U.S. or international financial stability 2. Analyzing research, information, or data related to U.S. or international financial stability 3. Analyzing, advising on, or otherwise using laws and regulations relating to the U.S. financial system, financial institutions, or financial markets AND C) Experience leading teams (either formally or informally) conducting research on, performing data analysis of, or providing advice regarding financial markets, financial institutions, or financial stability matters. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks. TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
