Position: Cloud Infrastructure Engineer I
Openings: 1
Salary: $110,000 – $123,000
Location: 641 S Street NW Washington, DC 20001
Schedule:
• Core hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Hybrid – 2 days onsite / 3 days remote
On-Call / Weekends / Holidays:
• On-call support required on an as-needed basis
• No weekends
Interview Process:
• Round 1: Virtual technical interview with team - 1 hour
• Final Round: Virtual interview Sr. Director of Enterprise Dev Ops - 1 hour
Overview: Insight Global is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Azure) to support a University that serves as the central hub of multiple Azure tenants. This Azure Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementation, and maintaining Azure cloud infrastructure and services.
Responsibilities:
• Design, deploy, and manage Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
• Configure and maintain Azure networking (VNETs, subnets, VPNs, firewalls, ExpressRoute).
• Manage Azure AD / Entra ID for authentication and access control.
• Automate infrastructure using ARM templates / Infrastructure as Code.
• Support VMs, containers, and serverless Azure services.
• Monitor performance, optimize costs, and maintain secure, scalable systems.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and support.

Skills and Requirements
Must Haves:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience engineering and supporting Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.
• 3+ years of scripting and automation experience using PowerShell (Python, Bash, or Azure CLI preferred).
• 3+ years supporting Azure networking in large‑scale, multi‑tenant, or multi‑site environments.
• Experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure from first principles, not just via managed abstractions.
• Proven ability to independently troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and explain root cause clearly. Desired Certifications:

• Azure Security Engineer Associate
• Azure Identity and Access Administrator Associate
• Certified ITIL Foundation 4
