Partnership for Public Service Associate Manager, Programs Communications & Marketing in Washington, District Of Columbia

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Partnership is seeking a dynamic, collaborative and motivated project manager with marketing and communications skills to join our Programs team. This person will support the marketing and communication efforts for the Public Service Leadership Institute team’s thought leadership work and the broader Programs Team’s business development initiatives.The associate manager may also manage select leadership development programming for government employees.

    Marketing and communications responsibilities include long-term planning around LinkedIn posts and HubSpot (mass marketing) emails and the creation and updating of marketing collateral, website pages, program applications, and other materials. This work will also involve research, creation, and posting about leadership development tools, practical leadership frameworks, and other trends in public service thought leadership. This role will be responsible for helping to develop and manage the marketing plans for both thought leadership content and program initiatives.

    While the primary responsibilities for this role are marketing and communications, this position may also manage small engagements for our government customers, such as leadership development programs for mid-career audiences, leadership retreats and webinars.

    This position is ideal for someone who has an interest in public service leadership and has both project management and communications experience. A competitive candidate is someone who has a passion for marketing and communications using a variety of platforms, can manage complexity, demonstrates creativity, communicates effectively, and collaborates with a variety of stakeholders.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with Programs team leads to draft and update website content and marketing collateral for programs-specific pages and activities.

  • With oversight from the Business Development Director, work with the Communications team on content for an extensive redesign of the Partnership’s website and our offerings brochure.

  • Create and update program registration forms in FormAssembly and HubSpot.

  • Manage programs-specific email subscriber lists, with a focus on building state and local contacts.

  • Support the development of a strategic marketing and communications plan to maximize the mission and brand impact of PSLI's thought leadership efforts

  • Research best practices and current trends in government leadership

  • Engage internal and external content experts, including program coaches and facilitators, Partnership senior leaders and members of the Government Leadership Advisory Council, to contribute their expertise towards PSLI’s thought leadership efforts

  • Draft content and manage PSLI’s LinkedIn showcase page

  • With senior-level oversight, manage small to mid-size PSLI projects.

    REQUIRED/PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work or military experience required.

  • Minimum of two to four years of relevant, full-time work experience, including demonstrated success leading projects to accomplish results.

  • Knowledge of or experience with the government workforce preferred.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY/REPORTING STRUCTURE

    This position reports to a manager, senior manager, or director. This position may directly or indirectly supervise associates or interns.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    This job operates in a hybrid (remote + office) environment in Washington, DC. The successful candidate must be a permanent resident in the Washington, DC, Maryland or Virginia area. The person in this role is expected to work in the office, on average, three days per week – with Wednesday as the required day in-office. This position requires consistent use of office equipment such as computer, telephone, printer/scanner and MS Office.

    POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

    This is a full-time exempt position with regular work hours Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET. Occasional evening or weekend activities may be required. Please note the Partnership allows flexibility in work schedules.

    TRAVEL

    If travel occurs, it is usually during the business day. Very little out of the area and/or overnight travel will be required as well.

    SALARY AND BENEFITS

    The starting salary range for this position is $62,500 - $65,500. The Partnership offers a compensation package that includes a competitive salary; medical, dental and vision coverage; life insurance; long- and short-term disability insurance; a 401(k) program with a 4 percent employer match; opportunities for training and development; commuter benefits; 15 days of annual leave per year, 10 days of sick leave per year, plus all federal holidays and the day after Thanksgiving off; and use of an on-site exercise facility.
