CBRE Senior Construction Cost and Controls Manager in Washington D.C., District Of Columbia
Aboutthe Role :
As a CBRE CostManagement Sr. Manager, you will manage the staff responsible for real estatecost solutions for clients with direct accountability for cost delivery.
This job ispart of the Building Consultancy function. They are responsible for specialistbuilding services including surveying, inspections, and planning.
WhatYou’ll Do :
• Provideformal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff.Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiringof new employees.
• Coordinateand manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks,and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor andcoach as needed.
• Establish adepartmental strategy to manage cash flows, project accruals, and reportprogress.
• Manage allfacets of cost management from beginning to end.
• Partner withthe project teams to source and oversee the pre-bid and pre-constructionservices.
• Point ofcontact for project managers and the leasing team to estimate costs associatedwith the lease. Optimize property owner contribution and tenant improvementallowances on behalf of the client.
• Oversee theadministration associated with funding all project work. Promote proactivecreation and submission of funding documents. Ensure project work followsinternal funding policies.
• Apply a broadknowledge of the business, own discipline, and how own discipline integrateswith others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
• Lead byexample and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.Influence others to adopt a different point of view while being guided bypolicies and departmental plans.
• Identify andsolve technical and operational problems of complexity.
• Understandand recognize the broader impact across the department.
• Improve andchange existing methods, processes, and standards within job discipline.
WhatYou’ll Need :
• Bachelor'sDegree preferred with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree,a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Chartered QuantitySurveyor experience preferred.
• 3 – 5 yearsminimum experience in projects or programs construction cost environment.
• Experience inthe areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring,measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
• Ability tolead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, conveyperformance expectations and handle problems.
• Leadershipskills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impactson own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department.
• In-depthknowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook,etc.
• Extensiveorganizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
•Intermediatemath skills. Ability to calculate complicated figures such as percentages,fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited U.S. institution (Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school preferred).
A minimum of 7+ years relevant experience in HR or Employment compliance with 3 years of experience in a leadership role at a highly matrixed organization is preferred.
Experience implementing corporate Employment compliance programs, including knowledge of the employment laws at the federal, state, and local level.
Proven ability to design, implement, and manage enterprise-wise Employment compliance programs.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, influence, and relationship-building skills.
Experience developing and presenting training to business leaders and legal professionals.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage change in complex organizations.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Extensive organizational skills and an inquisitive mindset.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Cost Management Sr. Manager position is $127,500 annually and the maximum salary for the Cost Management Sr. Manager position is $147,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
