The Position

Manager, Corporate Development

Summary

The Manager of Corporate Development is responsible for driving key partnerships, initiatives, and innovations aligned with the Corporate Development vision. This role focuses on creating long-term business value, accelerating innovation for patients, establishing strategic collaborations with customers and external companies, and driving differentiated, innovative approaches to enhance Roche's market presence.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Customer Innovation Partnerships : Lead innovation partnerships with 1-2 key customers, encompassing tasks such as idea generation, business case development, stakeholder engagement, contract execution, and ongoing relationship management.

  • Partner Relationship Management : Initiate, develop, and maintain trust-based relationships with potential partners, including high-level executives (e.g., CEOs) and technical/business leads, to enhance Roche’s market reputation.

  • Global Engagement : Collaborate with global partnering and lifecycle teams to advance U.S.-based partnership opportunities.

  • Transactions Management : Lead or support acquisitions, divestments, and partnerships, contributing to business case development, due diligence, financial analysis, and risk assessments.

  • Partnership Execution : Oversee partnership activities, including project management, financial modeling, negotiations, and deal closures, ensuring smooth transitions to the appropriate business units.

  • Internal & External Communication : Facilitate dialogue with internal stakeholders (local and global) throughout evaluation, diligence, and alliance processes.

  • Market Insights : Stay updated on U.S. diagnostics trends and developments through engagement with subject matter experts.

  • Patient Access & Differentiation : Leverage market knowledge to drive partnerships or innovative solutions that promote patient access and differentiate Roche in the U.S. healthcare market.

Knowledge, Skills, & Attributes

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Marketing, Clinical).

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, sales, or a clinical role.

  • Broad knowledge of the diagnostics, medical device, or pharmaceutical industries.

  • Solid understanding of the U.S. healthcare landscape.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for engaging senior executives and diverse audiences.

  • Strong strategic thinking, collaboration, and relationship management skills.

  • Scientific curiosity with the ability to learn and apply scientific concepts in a business context.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related clinical field.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams, including contract negotiations and partnership execution.

  • Proficiency in developing financial models and measuring transaction value.

  • Familiarity with legal, compliance, and regulatory standards.

Additional Information

  • Strong analytical and strategic abilities to identify and quantify transaction value.

  • Travel up to 30%.

  • This role has been approved for remote flexibility, anywhere in the United States
