For over 50 years -- The Glenholme School, part of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, has provided a comprehensive residential program and services for children with learning differences and special needs. Located in picturesque Washington, CT the Direct Care Professional position will be part of a cohesive, passionate and dynamic team. The selected candidate will foster Devereux’s mission and values of quality care as well as providing top-notch and individualized therapeutic care for our students.
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Program Director to lead and oversee a DDS-licensed residential program serving adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in Connecticut. The Program Director is responsible for ensuring safe, high quality, person-centered services while maintaining full compliance with CT DDS regulations and licensing standards. This role includes leadership of staff, program operations, regulatory readiness, and coordination of care, all while fostering a respectful and supportive enrironment that enhances the quality of life for individuals served.

Salary Range: $83,500 - $100,000

Employee Assistance Program
Key Responsabilities:
Provide leadership and supervision to residential and direct care staff
Ensure CT DDS regulatory compliance and maintain licensing standards
Oversee daily residential program operations and individual plan (IP) implementation
Manage Behavioral Support Plans and incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action
Lead quality assurance initiatives and prepare for audits and inspections
Coordinate medical, health, and safety oversight for individuals served
Support crisis management, de-escalation, and emergency response
Facilitate interdisciplinary team collaboration and communication with families, guardians, and stakeholders
Implement policies, staff training, coaching, and performance management
Promote trauma-informed and ethical care practices

Qualifications
Bachelors's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, Nursing or related field required; Master's degree preferred
Coursework or training in disability services, behavioral supports, healthcare coordination, or program administration preferred
3-5 years progressive experience supporting adults with IDD in residential or community-based settings
Minimum 2 years supervisory or management experience overseeing direct care staff
Experience managing DDS-licensed residential programs, including operations, staffing, and compliance
Proficient with individual Plans, Behavioral Support Plans, incident management, and quality assurance
Experience with DDS audits, licensing reviews, and emergency/crisis response
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and bend, and move throughout the workday
Ability to lift, push, pull, or assist with up to 40 pounds as needed
Ability to assist with emergency responses, including evacuations or crisis situations
Work Schedule:
Full-time with on-call responsibilities
Occasional evenings, weekends, and emergency response required
