We at McCrum have an immediate opening for a full-time Maintenance Technician in our Washburn, Maine potato processing facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Monitoring: Operate and monitor a high-pressure boiler, feed water\ systems, and auxiliary equipment to ensure consistent steam production for plant\ operations.
- Water Chemistry: Conduct regular boiler water analysis and chemical testing;\ adjust chemical feed systems to prevent corrosion and scale buildup.
- Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine preventative maintenance and minor\ mechanical repairs on pumps, valves, and piping.
- Log Management: Maintain accurate, detailed logs of boiler readings, fuel\ consumption, water chemistry, maintenance activities, etc.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose equipment malfunctions during the shift\ and escalate complex issues to the Maintenance Lead as needed.
Requirements:
- Licensure: Must possess a valid State of Maine Stationary Steam Engineer\ License (minimum 4th Class preferred, but minimum of High Pressure-Operator\ required).
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing\ environment, specifically with high-pressure steam systems.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read gauges, interpret technical manuals, and use\ basic hand/power tools.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, climb ladders, and lift up to\ 50 lbs. You must be comfortable working in environments with varying\ temperatures.
- Availability: Comfort working the 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM schedule.
