Masking Technician
Job Summary
The Masker is responsible for applying various types of masking tape, fixtures, and materials to metal parts and components according to engineering drawings and production specifications. This role ensures that all parts meet customer and quality requirements prior to the painting and powder‑coating processes.
Days : Monday-Friday 6:00A - 2:00P
Essential Functions
Review shop packets and engineering drawings to ensure incoming parts meet customer specifications.
Select appropriate masking materials and components based on the production schedule.
Inspect plated and painted components to verify adequate coverage as required.
Use calibrated measuring instruments to confirm masking dimensions and report any non‑compliance issues to the Masking Coordinator.
Apply masking materials and fixtures before painting; inspect and remove them following powder‑coating operations.
Load various parts onto painting racks safely and efficiently.
Identify and segregate parts that do not meet quality specifications, reporting findings to the Masking Coordinator for proper disposition.
Frequently lift and move items weighing up to 75 lbs.
Perform physical job motions including standing, walking, bending, crouching, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
Operate equipment required to move materials within or out of the department.
Follow daily instructions and guidance from the Masking Coordinator or Supervisor.
Perform work according to established quality standards.
Adhere to all safety guidelines, including correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications / Job Specifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to read and write to follow instructions and complete job‑related paperwork.
Up to one year of previous assembly experience preferred.
Experience reading blueprints preferred.
Additional Requirements
This Warwick, RI facility is an ITAR‑controlled site . All candidates must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 .
