Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Warwick, Rhode Island. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately processing and organizing tax documents, ensuring confidentiality and precision in all tasks. This position offers a collaborative office environment where you will contribute to maintaining efficient workflows.
Responsibilities:
• Sort and scan various tax documents to ensure proper categorization and organization.
• Process tax data through specialized software programs to generate accurate returns.
• Identify and interpret tax forms such as W-2s and 1099s, ensuring relevant information is scanned and recorded.
• Maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive financial information.
• Perform small computer-based projects, including entering software expenses and finalizing tax returns.
• Manage incoming mail by removing staples and paperclips, preparing documents for scanning.
• Operate a desktop scanner to digitize physical documents effectively.
• Collaborate within a relaxed office setting alongside a team of 15 professionals. Requirements • Proficiency in data entry tasks, including typing and 10-key skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word for organizing and processing data.
• Ability to handle repetitive tasks with a high level of accuracy and focus.
• Experience with scanning and digitizing documents using desktop scanners.
• Strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
• Basic knowledge of email correspondence and file management.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive information.
