Job Description:
This role is a critical member of the Cluster leadership team with responsibility for driving the strategy and implementation of the demand function for the business, unlocking category growth in the marketplace to drive long term sustainable growth.
As line manager of one of the biggest teams in the unit, the leader has a critical role to develop, manage and grow talent for the unit. The role is responsible for Category Pillar including Perfect store, then Portfolio, Activation, Strategic revenue management and Media in the unit.
It plays a critical role in driving the One Demand agenda both in the cluster as well as in the region by actively working with the regional Marketing and Sales teams. Plus ensuring the voice and needs of the cluster are heard in the Regional Leadership forums.
What will be your key responsibilities?
· Leadership of the Demand unit team;
· Accountable for the category and portfolio strategy and execution across the whole geography covered by the business unit, including: Category strategy creation & vision deployment, Perfect Store, Portfolio management of all categories/segments including Media, SRM, In-store activation strategy, program and execution;
· Direct and indirect line management of the full Demand team including engagement, change management, capability and talent development;
· Active member of the unit Leadership Team – responsible for unit strategy, owning the Category vision implementation and Portfolio strategic choices;
· Ultimate accountability for A&CP&D budget (A&CP cascade and aligned with the Region);
· Manage relationship and collaboration with extensive stakeholder community, including regional Marketing and Sales teams, Peer Leaders from other clusters and Segment Counterparts;
· Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure excellence in execution with focus on One Demand;
· Own the PMR step.
What are we looking for?
· Master’s degree or equivalent is highly desirable; additional advanced qualifications are a plus;
· Proven people leadership experience (5+ years), with a track record of developing internal talent, building succession pipelines, and leading high-performing teams across markets or functions;
· Demonstrated functional expertise in Sales and Marketing, with evidence of driving regional or multi-market growth, commercial strategy, and executional excellence;
· Brand Management and Category Leadership experience, including shaping portfolio strategy, leading innovation, and accelerating category performance at scale;
· Proven ability to navigate Mars’ matrix organization, working effectively across functions, geographies, and senior leadership to deliver strategic and enterprise-wide outcomes;
· Experienced leader in managing diverse and cross-functional teams, fostering engagement, accountability, and strong performance culture within Mars;
· Strong influencing and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to partner with and impact senior leaders to drive business-critical decisions;
· Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is a must to support effective regional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
