UL, LLC Senior Software System Administrator in Warsaw, Poland
Manages the day-to-day operations of the Customer facing Infrastructure by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair.
Ensures that records of system downtime and equipment inventory are properly maintained.
Applies revisions to host system firmware and software.
Works with vendors to assist support activities.
Performs troubleshooting as required and lead problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and team members from other departments.
Establishes guidelines and methods for the installation and management of the operating systems, disk subsystems, firewalls and switches, and other components.
Conducts studies, consults with vendors, management and staff concerning projected enhancements to hardware for existing and new technologies; and presents cost-benefit recommendations to upper management.
Provides highly skilled assistance in network planning, engineering, and architecture.
Manage Storage and Compute architecture for scalability, availability and security.
Solves complex problems, Maintain Service Level Agreements withing deployed Infrastructure, and ensure high availability.
Coordinate with stakeholders and support RFP/RFI process.
Troubleshooting and resolving Azure/On-Prem environment performance issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc.
Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
Performs other duties as directed.
A typical day will be varied as the UK group is responsible for physical hardware, networking, databases, Hypervisors and VMs, SAN storage, Azure resources and containerization among other things.
University degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
5+ Years experience in a IT system administration role.
Good knowledge of at least one scripting language.
Strong experience in implementing, monitoring and maintaining Microsoft Azure solutions, including major services related to Compute, Storage, Network and Security.
Knowledge of system security techniques - Strong working experience in securing Infrastructure and traffic management in both SaaS and PaaS configurations.
Working experience in cloud Infrastructure, both SaaS and PaaS.
Experience in Azure monitoring, alerting, and diagnostics, including Application Insights, Log Analytics, Network Monitoring, Service Health, and dashboards.
Knowledge of network protocols such as: DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, SFTP.
Experience with containerization.
Experience with modern deployment methodologies.
Excellent organizational, written and communication skills.
Experience implementing and executing secure and scalable Infrastructure implementations.

150.300 - 200.300 PLN gross and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and other factors. This position is eligible for an annual bonus with a target payout of 10% of base salary.
