Overview
As an UX Engineer, you will develop front end designs, specs and user interface systems and partner with engineers to build out fully functioning features. You will generate ideation solutions, identify user needs and defines product designs. You will develop prototypes to meet specific needs, solve challenges and get user feedback. This opportunity will allow you to work with designers to iterate designs during implementation and oversee versioning of tools, including listening to customer needs, driving accessibility and connecting Design and Engineering with tools/platforms. You will liaise between Design and Engineering to deliver product requirements and drive consistency with existing codebases and design systems.
Responsibilities
You will champion collaboration between design and engineering to fill gaps and contribute to initiatives that create opportunities for impact.
You will lead the development and/or enablement of front-end design solutions, technical prototypes, tooling, and/or user interface systems for one or more owned products. You’ll influence design ideas to generate ideation solutions for complex products through meetings to improve product designs and influence the prioritization of product backlog and sprint management.
As you lead interactions with Engineering for successful design implementation, you will also lead design Q&A forums to ensure "pixel perfect" designs.
You’ll lead the building and maintenance of tools, platforms, and systems, and you’ll ensure the use and adoption of the latest codebases and design systems. As you set the context for leadership stakeholders, you will lead collaboration with creative team members, program managers, and developers to define and iterate on new and existing product features as well as make decisions on behalf of One Microsoft.
You’ll communicate a compelling, convincing product story to a variety of audiences, inspiring excitement and support of the product, and you will create clarity and build energy for stakeholders.
Qualifications
Extensive experience working in product or service design and/or shipping production code
OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND solid experience working in product or service design and/or shipping production code
OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND solid experience working in product or service design and/or shipping production code
OR equivalent experience
