Personal Care Assistant
The Cloisters, an Adult Senior Living Facility in Warsaw, NY is looking for a part-time Personal Care Assistant. (2nd Shift, 2:00PM - 10:00PM, every other weekend, plus 1-2 days/week).
Personal Care Assistants help our residents maintain independence and quality of life by:
1) Assisting with daily living activities: bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, as needed. 2) Mobility support: helping clients move safely, including walking assistance and supporting physical therapy exercises. 3) Medication and health monitoring: reminding clients to take medications, observing for side effects, taking vital signs, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals. 4) Household management: performing light housekeeping, laundry, cleaning, and maintaining a safe and tidy environment. 5) Companionship and emotional support: engaging clients in conversation, social activities, and hobbies to reduce loneliness and improve mental well-being. 6) Transportation assistance: accompanying clients to medical appointments, errands, or social events
Skills and Qualifications
1) Compassion and empathy to provide emotional support and companionship. 2) Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and healthcare teams. 3) Physical endurance and strength to assist with mobility and daily tasks. 4) Technical skills for basic medical tasks, such as administering medications and monitoring vital signs. 5) Organizational skills to maintain accurate records and follow care plans.
*Previous caregiving/personal care experience preferred, but not required. WE TRAIN!
