Position Overview
Summit School Services is seeking a Data Analyst to design, build, and deliver impactful Power BI reports and dashboards that support decision-making throughout the organization. This role requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills to help drive business performance, enhance quality, and optimize operational processes.
Reporting & Analytics Development
Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements for reports, metrics and dashboards
Develop a deep understanding of business operations and data usage
Provide guidance on data management standards and best practices
Serve as a subject matter expert for data engineering teams and technology partners
Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards tailored to multiple audiences
Identify trends and perform root cause analysis
Ensure reports are intuitive, visually clear, and actionable for non-technical users.
Data Analysis & Storytelling
Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Translate analysis into clear insights and narratives that drive understanding and action.
Provide context, commentary, and recommendations alongside dashboards and reports.
Present findings to stakeholders with varying levels of technical and operational expertise.
Stakeholder Management
Build collaborative relationships with business stakeholders.
Define functional requirements and gather feedback to improve data products.
Advance enterprise reporting through product-thinking, including roadmaps and backlog management.
Identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
Team Collaboration
Serve as a subject matter expert for Data Engineers & reporting teams.
Manage vendors and cross functional work to achieve outcomes
Develop materials for leadership presentations
Analytics & Core Responsibilites
Produce weekly and monthly KPI reports using Excel and Power BI.
Develop SQL queries for recurring and ad-hoc reports.
Identify trends, gaps and improvements in operational performance.
Optimize statistical calculations for better business metrics.
Engage in new analytical projects and exploratory data capturing.
Identify and resolve issues in established reports.
The annual compensation range is $75,000-$125,000.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Business, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2 – 5 years of analytics experience
Experience in Power BI reports and dashboards (DAX, Data modeling, performance optimization) and Azure.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and Microsoft Office Skills.
Proficiency in SQL, Python and data querying.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and synthesize data.
Proven ability to communicate insights and tell a story with data.
Experience working with operational or performance-based KPIs.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in transportation, logistics, operations, or field-based services.
Experience with predictive analytics, forecasting, or trend modeling.
