Responsibilities:
Assists SVP in overseeing financial and business operations of the area including revenue and expenses
Identifies areas for improvement and/or efficiency and process improvements to maximize funding or capacity
Develops and delivers relevant reports and metrics to corporate leadership
Assists SVP in creating and implementing long range, strategic goals for the area
Responsible for the approval and ongoing administration of the area annual budgets
Building visibility into various business processes by implementing financial reporting procedures and measurement tools to identify profit enhancement opportunities
Managing the review of monthly variance analysis functions and activities related to financial statements and budgets, providing direction and ensuring appropriate resolution of variances
Collaborating closely with area management to prepare annual budgets, periodic forecasts, and period close variance analysis to ensure consistency/accuracy of financial data presented to executive management
Managing the preparation of financial analysis of company offers and union offers during collective bargaining agreements negotiations.
Managing or participating in special/ad hoc projects (e.g. best practices) including developing project priorities, plans, methodologies, schedules, and budgets; estimating human and financial resource requirements; and directing/managing external consultants, monitoring progress and reviewing quality of work
Strong presentation skills and the ability to navigate and network with different departments in an organization
Track corporate initiatives for progress and completion
Qualifications
B.S./B.A. in Accounting or Finance required; MBA preferred
8-10 years of experience in operations (multi-site preferred)
5 or more years of financial planning and analysis experience with an emphasis on the revenue cycle
Professional accounting designation or equivalent relevant experience
Experience leading an annual planning process of a division or corporation
Proven track record in identifying and managing strategic initiatives
Proven leadership, strategic planning and decision-making abilities required
Strong working knowledge of MS Office Software (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Working knowledge of planning, forecasting, and reporting systems; Oracle/JDE/ERP systems; and Hyperion/Business Intelligence systems
Experience providing bid support from a financial perspective
Proficient in the use of Excel spreadsheets
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
