Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician – Direct Hire

Location: Warren, MI

Shift: 1st Shift — 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Pay: Up to $19/hr

Type: Direct Hire

Position Overview

A manufacturing facility in Warren, MI is seeking a hands-on NDT Technician (Entry-Level / Level I) to support inspection activities on aerospace components. This role involves preparing parts and assisting in multiple non-destructive testing methods to identify material flaws and discontinuities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with and perform various non-destructive tests (such as FPI) on gas turbine engine components.

  • Work from process travelers and written instructions to prepare parts for:

  • Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI)

  • Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)

  • X-Ray / Radiography (RT)

  • Apply required agents including cleaners, penetrants, and developers according to established procedures.

  • Set up, adjust, and make minor modifications to NDT equipment based on engine manual specifications.

  • Conduct tests following prescribed guidelines and identify/mark any discontinuities found.

  • Maintain or work toward Level I certification in at least one NDT discipline.

  • Perform moderate physical tasks including lifting or moving materials 25–60 lbs .

Requirements

  • Strong basic math skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documents .

  • Interest in developing skills within non-destructive testing (training provided).

  • Ability to work on-site in a hands-on production environment.

Pay Details: $18.00 to $19.00 per hour
