Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician – Direct Hire
Location: Warren, MI
Shift: 1st Shift — 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Pay: Up to $19/hr
Type: Direct Hire
Position Overview
A manufacturing facility in Warren, MI is seeking a hands-on NDT Technician (Entry-Level / Level I) to support inspection activities on aerospace components. This role involves preparing parts and assisting in multiple non-destructive testing methods to identify material flaws and discontinuities.
Responsibilities
Assist with and perform various non-destructive tests (such as FPI) on gas turbine engine components.
Work from process travelers and written instructions to prepare parts for:
Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI)
Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
X-Ray / Radiography (RT)
Apply required agents including cleaners, penetrants, and developers according to established procedures.
Set up, adjust, and make minor modifications to NDT equipment based on engine manual specifications.
Conduct tests following prescribed guidelines and identify/mark any discontinuities found.
Maintain or work toward Level I certification in at least one NDT discipline.
Perform moderate physical tasks including lifting or moving materials 25–60 lbs .
Requirements
Strong basic math skills.
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documents .
Interest in developing skills within non-destructive testing (training provided).
Ability to work on-site in a hands-on production environment.
Pay Details: $18.00 to $19.00 per hour
