ManpowerGroup Controls Engineer 3 in Warren, Michigan

Our client, a leading automotive manufacturing organization, is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team. As a Controls Engineer, you will be part of the Automation and Controls Department supporting multiple plant sites. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and the ability to work independently, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Controls Engineer

Location: Warren, MI, Saginaw, MI, Defiance, OH

Pay Range: $50.14/hr - $57.31/hr.

Shifts: Monday – Friday, 1st shift (8am–3pm core hours, 40 hours/week)

Some overtime expected depending on project schedule

Assignment duration: 12 months, with potential for conversion to permanent depending on business needs

What’s the Job?

  • Design, develop, and optimize automation and control systems including PLC and HMI software.

  • Engineer electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams and control panels.

  • Provide technical support for installation, start-up, and training of plant personnel.

  • Guide suppliers as new tooling is introduced into plant operations.

  • Travel to plant sites as needed to support project execution.

What’s Needed?

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering preferred (or equivalent experience, 10+ years).

  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on controls engineering experience.

  • Proficiency with Rockwell PLCs and Siemens HMI; Siemens PLC experience a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and be deployed in the field.

  • Strong problem-solving, initiative, and team collaboration skills.
