GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

The General Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing routine maintenance functions on facility structures, equipment, and fixtures, such as painting, carpentry, drywall, plumbing, fire doors, roll-up doors, etc. in support of the Warner Robins operation and maintenance contract.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Correct deficiencies of facility structures, equipment, and fixtures.
• Perform maintenance and repairs to structural components and fixtures to include doors, interior walls, flooring, bathroom fixtures, etc.
• Open clogged drains, repair leaks, and perform other simple plumbing jobs.
• Perform minor patching and touch-up painting to the interior and exterior of the facility buildings.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all building equipment and systems.
• Maintain tools and maintenance equipment in working order.
• Maintain the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces.
• Assist others as part of the maintenance team, as required.
• May be expected on occasion to respond to after-hour emergency calls

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) Certificate.
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience in the maintenance field.
• Must have knowledge of equipment, materials, methods, practices, and tools used in the general maintenance field.
• Must have a working knowledge and comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and driving history must meet company standards throughout employment.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a background check as a condition of employment and to obtain access to federal installations.

This job is performed in a shop setting, various buildings, and out of doors

in extreme heat/cold and possibly rainy weather. Physical stamina and strength in all its forms (endurance, temperature/climate, stress, etc.) is necessary.
