The Lease Operator III role is built for a professionals who bring strong technical judgment and a hands-on approach to daily operations. In this position, you'll apply operational skills across diverse assets and systems to keep production running safely, efficiently, and in compliance. You'll take ownership of complex troubleshooting, maintain site and equipment integrity, and support pipeline operations with precision and reliability. Collaboration is key---you'll work closely with foremen and peers to resolve issues, drive cost-effective decisions, and contribute to emissions reduction efforts. You'll also support training by sharing route knowledge and best practices with newer operators. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact in the field, contribute to continuous improvement, and build on your operational expertise in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Performs production testing and advanced equipment repairs while escalating corrective maintenance needs as appropriate
  • Applies strong diagnostic skills to troubleshoot SCADA systems, metering, automation, communications, and lift systems
  • Adjusts operational controls to support production efficiency, cost management, and emissions reduction initiatives
  • Maintains equipment and supports pipeline operations by interpreting technical drawings, monitoring asset performance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational standards
  • Supports site integrity through routine upkeep of signage, fencing, and environmental safeguards, coordinating with midstream operations when needed
  • Reviews facility and well performance data to identify operational issues, collaborating with foremen and peers to implement practical, cost-effective solutions
  • Assists in onboarding and training of new operators, sharing route knowledge and operational practices to build team capability
  • Follows all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) protocols including safe vehicle operation, emergency response procedures, and active participation in programs such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Stop Work Authority
  • Other duties as assigned

     

*Education/Years of Experience: *

  • Required: High School Diploma/GED and minimum three (3) years of demonstrated ability as an operations technician or similar role
  • Preferred: Associates or two-year technical degree

Other Requirements:

  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills, Process Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Must possess valid State Driver's License and clean driving record
  • Demonstrates aptitude and ability to embrace technology and applications to drive operational efficiency and streamline processes

     

Physical and Environment Work Requirements:

Must be willing to:

  • Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces
  • Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed
  • Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time
  • Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towe s, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
  • Use hand tools

     

Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements:

  • Available to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holidays as the need arises
  • May be required to work overtime, 10-12 hour shifts and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays
