How you’ll make an impact in this role
Ascension Via Christi is looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Emergency Medicine and walk-in clinic team in Wamego, Kansas.
Position Highlights:
Provide care in both the Emergency Department and Walk-in Clinic, offering a broad scope of acute and urgent care experience.
Practice in a community-focused hospital that delivers comprehensive care close to home for the surrounding rural region.
Join a collaborative emergency team delivering care for a wide range of acute conditions, injuries, and stabilization for transfer when needed.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision of a physician.
Obtain patient history and performs assessment. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic procedures.
Provide and document direct treatment and management of health conditions.
Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.

What minimum requirements you’ll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Verified by local credentialing office.
Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Kansas Board of Healing Arts obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local credentialing office.
Education:
- Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree preferred.
Work Experience:
- 1 year of experience preferred.
