Job Description
As a Director and HR Business Partner at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll be a key strategic partner helping advance our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. In this role, you'll provide comprehensive HR leadership and support to the CMD Division's Global R&D and Operations organizations. You'll collaborate with senior leaders to develop and implement HR strategies that drive business performance, foster innovation, and support organizational growth.
How you will make an impact:
Lead talent management initiatives, including workforce planning, succession planning, and leadership development programs
Drive organizational design and transformation efforts to align with business objectives and improve operational efficiency
Develop and implement strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent within the CMD Division
Partner with senior leadership to identify and address critical people-related challenges and opportunities
Provide strategic guidance on employee relations, performance management, and organizational culture
Lead change management initiatives to support business transformation and growth
Ensure compliance with global HR policies, practices, and employment laws
What you will do:
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on all HR-related matters
Develop and implement talent strategies that align with business goals and drive organizational performance
Lead workforce planning initiatives to ensure the right talent is in place to meet current and future business needs
Design and implement leadership development programs to build a strong pipeline of future leaders
Drive organizational transformation efforts, including restructuring and change management initiatives
Analyze HR metrics and provide data-driven insights to inform business decisions
Collaborate with global HR teams to ensure consistent implementation of HR policies and practices
Manage complex employee relations issues and conduct high-level investigations when necessary
Oversee performance management processes and drive a culture of continuous feedback and development
Partner with Compensation & Benefits teams to develop competitive total rewards strategies
Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the CMD Division
REQUIREMENTS:
How you will get here:
Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field
10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR Business Partner or leadership role
Proven track record in talent management, organizational development, and workforce planning
Strong background in leading transformational change and organizational design initiatives
In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulatory requirements
Experience working in a matrix environment and partnering with senior level executives
Professional HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent) desired
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strategic thinking with the ability to align HR initiatives with business objectives
Excellent leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to drive change at all levels of the organization
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with data-driven decision making
Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex HR concepts to diverse audiences
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders
Deep understanding of talent management practices and leadership development
Experience with HR analytics and HRIS systems
Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives
Business acumen with a thorough understanding of organizational dynamics
Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
Travel Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $160,100.00–$213,400.00.
