Insight Global Remote Electrical Engineer - PE REQUIRED in Walnut Creek, California
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to serve as the Lead Electrical Engineer on complex infrastructure and facility design projects. This is a remote‑first role with a strong preference for candidates based in Florida, the Southeast, or the Eastern Time Zone, though exceptional candidates located elsewhere will be considered if they can travel regularly to Florida.
This role is hands‑on and technical. The ideal candidate is comfortable working deeply in design (50–60%) while also leading and managing a small electrical team (up to 4 engineers). You will be responsible for medium‑voltage power system and power distribution design, technical oversight, delegation of project work, and in‑person coordination during key project phases.
Relocation assistance is available, and all required travel expenses are covered by the company.

Skills and Requirements
Must have your Professional Engineer License
Electrical Engineering degree (or equivalent experience)
Medium‑voltage electrical design experience
Must have worked on projects requiring medium voltage
Must be able to explain exactly what you designed and owned within those projects
Strong experience with:
Power systems design
Power distribution design
Experience designing entire facilities, not limited to substations
Comfort working in a hands‑on technical role while also managing people
Ability and willingness to travel regularly to Florida
Experience Requirements
Manager / Lead Level:
- Minimum 12+ years of experience
Senior / Individual Contributor Level:
- Minimum 8+ years of experience
Management & Leadership Expectations
- Prior management or leadership experience is required
(This is not a purely managerial role)
- Expect to spend 50–60% of time in design
Approximately 40–50% in leadership, coordination, and delegation
