Basic Job Functions:
The Plant Managers responsibilities include, but are not limited to, taking care of our customers by executing the divisions safety, quality, cost, productivity and profitability objectives. The successful candidate will be a leader capable of ensuring the Nucor Connecticut Team delivers on our commitment to become the worlds safest steel company. The candidate will lead and develop a capable and motivated team that achieves operational excellence necessary to meet the technical and commercial needs of our customers. This will require the candidate to lead with a clear vision and strategy and empower their team to execute and meet all objectives in safety, quality, costs, productivity, profitability, and environmental. Additionally, the successful candidate must be able to work collaboratively throughout the division leadership team to inspire the entire operation. The Plant Manager is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and shipping teams. Safety is an important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety practices, policies, procedures and housekeeping standards to make safety a priority at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum five (5) years management experience within the steel-related manufacturing industry

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organization, planning, and analytical skills with the ability to execute plans to achieve results
Ability to create and implement processes and systems that drive the operation to generate desired results
Strong financial acumen with ability to manage profitability
Preferences:
Four-year technical degree or equivalent experience
Steel-related manufacturing experience
Bilingual Spanish/English
