Position Opening
Shoshone County is accepting applications for Deputy Clerk for the Shoshone County
Board of Commissioners Office.
This position reports to the County Clerk and is the Clerk to the Board of County
Commissioners and must be appointed and duly sworn into official public office. Work
involves creating, coordinating, and maintaining a permanent record of Board actions
including current official records, researching, interpreting and assuring Board
operational processes and procedures are followed according to Idaho Code. This
position requires the use of considerable judgement and independent action. Will
exercise a high level of discretion and the use and handling of confidential information.
The Clerk to the Board is responsible for responding to requests from the public, the
news media and County employees for information and/or services. Performs a variety
of full performance secretarial and clerical duties related to the administrative support of
the Board of County Commissioners and the County Clerk. Will be the first contact with
the Public and must have excellent customer service, phone etiquette, and computer
skills. Position is full time.
Applicant must have the following: High School diploma or equivalent, four (4) years of
office experience performing related duties preferable in a government setting or an
equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient in MS Word and Excel,
Outlook and must be bondable. Pass a pre-employment drug test. Hourly \$17.99 to
\$18.99 DOE, for the first three-month period. Full time position with benefits that
include medical, dental, vision, and retirement.
