This position requires knowledge and understanding of basic engineering concepts and procedures. Established policies and procedures are used to complete work assignments. Detailed instructions are provided, and work is performed under close supervision. May be assigned an element of a project or well-defined task. Perform a variety of engineering work in designing, modeling, analyzing, testing, problem resolution, and constructing. May recommend and/or develop improvements to existing products, processes, and testing methods. Work is primarily involved with the design, development, or improvement of existing or derivative products. Work may include creation of previously non-existent products, modification of existing products, process refinement, technical support to production, and/or development of equipment. Assist higher-level engineers in the completion of tasks, analysis and validation of design, and feasibility studies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• With oversight and direction, work on simple assemblies or on tasks in support of larger engineering projects.

• With oversight and direction, help to resolve issues using root cause corrective action methodologies.

• Perform assigned research and development tasks on new products.

• Under supervision, test and validate data, systems, or products.

• In support of developing quality expectations, create documentation and perform follow-up audits.

• With oversight and direction, establish production procedures, work instructions, QA matrices, and bills of materials.

• Meet all company work schedule and attendance expectations and perform within the physical and environmental demands of the job.

• Create new documents such as reports and test plans using previously created documents as templates.

• Operate in a support role to develop production capabilities to bring new products generated in R&D to the market.

• Perform in a support role on product development or process improvement (Lean/Kaizen) initiatives.

• Adheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture,

• Regular, predictable attendance is required.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

• Strong, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Effective written and oral communication skills with people at all levels of the organization.

• Effective computer skills, including MS Office.

• Ability to work effectively with a team.

Knowledge/Skills

• Experience with CAD software.

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Comfortable using hand tools.
