Job Position: Robotic Welding Technician
Join our team as a Robotic Welding Technician! This is a contract-to-hire opportunity designed for individuals who enjoy a fast-paced manufacturing environment and working with cutting-edge automation.
You will be responsible for programming and troubleshooting welding automation, maintaining stations, conducting quality inspections, and ensuring all technical specifications are met for automotive and non-automotive components.
Compensation & Shifts
Pay Rate: $19.00/hr+ (Starting pay is commensurate with experience)
Shift Premium: +$0.50/hr for 2nd Shift
Schedule: Monday – Thursday (Enjoy a 3-day weekend!)
1st Shift: 5:00 AM – 3:10 PM
2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 1:10 AM
Note: First-day orientation times differ (1st Shift: 7:30 AM | 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM)
Key Responsibilities
Robotics & Technical Operations
Program, troubleshoot, and operate robotic welding systems.
Set up and operate brake presses and fabricate components as needed.
Perform manual welding tasks (MIG, TIG, resistance, and stick) when required.
Interpret technical drawings and process sheets to execute precise welds.
Change out consumables, replace welding wire/gas cylinders, and perform minor equipment repairs.
Quality & Safety
Conduct initial and final part inspections using handheld certified instruments.
Perform daily weld testing based on specific customer requirements.
Adhere to 5S workplace organization standards to maintain a clean, safe environment.
Ensure all safety protocols and PPE requirements are followed at all times.
Inventory & Documentation
Manage welding material inventory and support production flow using KanBan systems.
Accurately log all production details and data into the AX system.
Prepare kits and organize parts/consumables for upcoming production runs.
Education & Experience
Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred: Post-secondary certificate from a technical institution or college.
Experience: 1–3 years of relevant welding/robotics experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
Skills & Certifications
License: Forklift operator license is a strong plus.
Technical: Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation.
Computer: Proficient in standard applications (MS Office) and digital logging.
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently or as part of a collaborative team.
