Workers will pick up and place pre-cut melons {2 to 24Ibs each) into cardboard bins until full. A worker will place a 50Ib pallet (40\"Wx40\"Dx4\"H) flat on trailer and assemble the cardboard bin and place on top of pallet. Workers will stand in a line 4 in a row. Each worker will pick up and pass a melon to the next worker. The melon will be passed up to the top of a trailer and placed in the cardboard bins until full. Once full, a worker will assemble a cardboard bin and place another pallet on top of the full bin and the empty bin will be filled. Each trailer holds either 10 or 12 full bins. Worker will remove melons from bin and place watermelon on conveyor in which each watermelon is graded (sized) by automated grading (sizing) machine. Labeler will place pre-pasted stickers on each melon. Worker will stand at the end of the Grading Machine and pick up Graded (Sized) melon and place into the designated bin for that particular size.

Tractor Driver - Will place pallets and load boxes on platform. Place V-boards and tie down load. Transport trailer from the field to trucking staging area.

Forklift Operator - Operator will move full bin of melons to grading table. Operator will stack and unstack pallets of packed product as directed and trained by Supervisory Personnel.

Weeding - Using a 6\" broad bladed lettuce knife, worker will insert knife into ground next to base of weed and pull with fingers.

Turning vines - Worker will walk through a field and bend over and move vines from bottom of furrow to the top.

We require one month of recent and verifiable experience within the past two years working in diversified crops, handling manual and mechanical tasks, including agricultural field work. Irrigating crops, setting and removing sprinklers, running wheel lines, driving\ equipment, operating pivots, flood irrigating, moving portable sprinklers, and installing drip tape. Must have one month experience\ working with onions and watermelons This position requires a minimum of one month for the employee to get a full understanding of the job and responsibilities. Must be able to understand work & safety instructions in English or Spanish, the languages spoken and written in the workplace.
