Naviga Inc. Trainee – Data Protection in United States
Position Overview:
The Data Protection Trainee supports the Group Data Protection Officer (Group DPO) in ensuring compliance with applicable data protection and privacy regulations, including GDPR and relevant national laws.
The Data Protection Trainee will gain hands-on experience in documentation management, privacy operations and compliance monitoring, while developing a solid understanding of data protection frameworks and best practices.
The trainee acts as an administrative and operational support figure within the DPO Office, collaborating with Legal, IT, HR, Compliance, and other business units to promote a culture of data protection and accountability across the organization. This is a learning-oriented role designed to provide practical exposure to data protection governance, regulatory compliance, and privacy risk management within a structured organizational environment.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
• Support the proper management and secure storage of privacy documentation (e.g. privacy registers, and privacy policies).
• Support the review and update of relevant privacy policies and procedures.
• Assist in the website review and monitoring program.
• Conduct research on data protection matters (e.g., cookie classification, data retention and best practices).
• Support the monitoring of specific privacy legislation developments (e.g., India and the United States).
• Interact with different teams and departments to collect information necessary to conduct privacy assessments.
• Support the management and tracking of the DPO Office priority list.
• Assist in maintaining internal privacy compliance trackers and dashboards.
• Support the preparation of periodic privacy reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
• Help coordinate follow-ups on remediation actions identified during privacy reviews.
• Support awareness initiatives by contributing to the preparation of internal communications and training materials on data protection topics.
Requirements:
• Any Graduate LLB (General Law / Cyber Law / IT Law), BSc/BCA (Administration / Management / IT / Cybersecurity / Information Security / Data Privacy)
