ICONMA, LLC Technical Program Manager – Hardware in United States
Our Client, a Av Manufacturing company, is looking for a Technical Program Manager – Hardware for their Foster City, CA/Hybrid location. Responsibilities:
Plan and Execute Strategically: Understand the big picture, including company goals and priorities, vehicle milestones, and client processes. Translate these into a clear, end-to-end program plan that enables the team to deliver successfully against company milestones.
Define workstreams, tasks, resourcing, and timelines in collaboration with the cross-functional core team.
Dive into granular technical and program details to drive execution, keep stakeholders accountable, and ensure successful delivery.
Solve Problems: Proactively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring issues are transparent across Engineering and cross-functional teams. Identify obstacles, determine root cause, evaluate options, escalate effectively, and implement solutions that drive progress and reduce the risk of recurrence.
Drive Issue Resolution: Own AHE’s Jira hygiene and issue-resolution targets, supporting the team in resolving critical issues and cross-team requests within agreed timelines.
Drive the Culture: Build trust and foster a culture of respect, engagement, and shared ownership of results.
Collaborate: Actively invite diverse perspectives, ensuring all voices are heard and valued in decision-making to strengthen outcomes as One Team.
Communicate Status: Develop and maintain standard reports and one-pagers to communicate program status, risks, issues, and achievements concisely and effectively to key stakeholders and client leadership.
Enable Decisions: Set agendas and develop decision option matrices to enable efficient, high-quality decisions.
Manage Resources: Partner with Engineering and Finance to define and track resource requirements, including headcount and budget.
Requirements:
8+ years of hardware program management or hardware engineering management experience, leading cross-functional teams on hardware/software integration across the full development lifecycle.
Deep familiarity with the hardware development cycle, with proven experience delivering hardware/software integrated programs for compute, controls, network-related hardware platforms, or consumer electronics.
Proficiency with tools used to manage complex projects (e.g., Jira, Gantt charts, Google Workspace).
Prior experience working with contract manufacturers (CMs) and prototype suppliers.
Able to thrive in rapid development cycles, remaining flexible and calm in the face of uncertainty.
Ability to develop the big picture and then dive into granular technical and program details to drive end-to-end program planning and execution at all levels.
Ability to deliver clear, well-structured, and concise communications, tailored to the appropriate audience.
Self-motivated and proactive problem solver.
BS degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
Directly managed 3+ full program development cycles for a complex system involving hardware/software integration, from architecture definition through the start of mass production.
Comfortable using AI and/or developing AI- or automation-based tools to improve the team’s effectiveness and efficiency.
Strong references that highlight your ability to build strong working relationships with senior leaders and engineers across functions and departments.
BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
