The Engineering Manager will lead and mentor a team of highly skilled engineers, driving the technical strategy and execution for cloud-native, SaaS-based microservices and AI-enabled frameworks. This role is responsible for ensuring alignment with architectural vision, fostering a culture of technical excellence, and delivering high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep experience in software engineering, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration, with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive the engineering strategy for cloud-native, SaaS-based shared microservices, including frameworks and AI enablement.
Collaborate with architects to ensure alignment with the broader architectural vision and successful execution.
Guide teams in applying best practices in software design, security, scalability, and performance.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to inform the evolution of frameworks and services.
Review design proposals, identify gaps, and guide teams toward practical solutions.
Ensure backlog grooming items are prepped and actionable before sprint ceremonies; coordinate with PMs and engineers to remove blockers.
Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and other agile ceremonies from a delivery-readiness perspective.
Instill a culture of accountability and clarity by ensuring sprint goals and design decisions are well-understood before execution.
Oversee the full software development lifecycle, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
Ensure secure coding practices and compliance with industry standards.
Act as a bridge between engineering, architecture, product, security, and platform/cloud teams to ensure alignment and delivery of shared goals.
Encourage effective use of architectural talent and promote continuous improvement in technical delivery and team collaboration.
Lead and mentor engineers, providing feedback, coaching, and professional development guidance.
Build a high-performing engineering culture focused on technical excellence, innovation, and quality execution.
Support the well-being and retention of team members through empathy, inclusion, and empowerment.
Work Location:India-BangaloreQualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience leading and managing a team of highly skilled engineers.
10-15 years of software engineering experience in SaaS, cloud-native applications.
Proven experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams.
Proficiency in multiple programming languages and modern technology stacks.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure) and microservices architecture.
Strong understanding of service integrations, CI/CD pipelines, and production release processes.
Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps principles.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in a relevant field.
Experience with AI enablement in software frameworks.
Demonstrated ability to drive technical strategy in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Track record of building and sustaining high-performing engineering teams.
Experience working in cross-functional, global teams.
